Our review: Creality K1C
Desk research, not hands-on testing: specifications, independent reviews, documented issues and buyer data. Both scores are calculated from the inputs listed below. How we score
Cheaper right now: another listing of the Creality K1C at £379.00. Check what is in the box, as listings often differ by bundle.
Verdict: An enclosed, fast CoreXY printer with a hardened steel nozzle tip for carbon-fibre filaments, a built-in AI camera and automatic calibration. It fixed the extruder problems of the original K1, but it is loud at speed and published reviews rate its air filter as close to useless.
9 / 10 Technical difficulty: Low
7.1 / 10 From buyer ratings, track record and known issues
- Enclosed CoreXY, up to 600 mm/s, with automatic levelling, Z-offset and calibration
- Hardened steel nozzle tip and titanium heatbreak for carbon-fibre-filled filaments
- Built-in AI camera for error alerts, remote viewing and timelapses
- Filament sensor, Wi-Fi printing and a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen
- Rated for PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, PA and PC
- Loud at full speed, despite the enclosure
- Published reviews rate the built-in air filter as close to useless
- 220 × 220 × 250 mm build volume is smaller than 256 mm rivals
- Sold with a quick-swap nozzle, but reviewers disagree on how quick it is in practice
Best for: Buyers who want an enclosed printer for PLA, PETG, ABS and carbon-fibre-filled filaments at a mid-range price.
Look elsewhere if: You want a quiet printer, real air filtration, or a build volume bigger than 220 mm.

Who it suits
The K1C arrived at the start of 2024 as the printer the original Creality K1 should have been. Early K1 units had well-publicised extruder problems; the K1C reworked the toolhead and made an AI camera standard. It suits buyers who want an enclosed, fast printer that can also handle abrasive carbon-fibre-filled filaments without an upgrade.
Setting it up
It arrives assembled, levels itself, sets its own Z height and runs automatic calibration to tune itself for speed. Control is through a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Creality’s app, and the built-in AI camera can alert you to a failing print. It scores 9 on our ease-of-use checklist.
The missing point is the nozzle. Creality sells the Unicorn nozzle as quick-swap, but published reviews disagree: at least one found the easy swap did not live up to the marketing. Without a clear tool-free swap, we do not award the point.
Printing with it
The hotend reaches 300°C and pairs a hardened steel tip with a titanium heatbreak, which is what the C stands for: carbon. Carbon-fibre-filled filaments wear ordinary brass nozzles quickly, so this saves an upgrade. See hardened vs brass nozzles. The enclosure keeps ABS and ASA from warping, and the 220 × 220 × 250 mm build volume covers most everyday parts.
Living with it
It is loud at full speed, enclosure or not, so think about where it will live. The built-in air filter is small, and one review called it practically useless, so ventilate the room when printing ABS or ASA rather than relying on it. There are no documented recalls or widely confirmed faults on the K1C itself, so no deductions.
Is today’s price a good deal?
The K1C competes with the Bambu Lab P1S, Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro and ELEGOO Centauri Carbon. Its case is the hardened nozzle and camera at a lower price, so check today’s prices in our review table. Some listings are camera bundles or older stock, so check what each includes.
