Our review: Creality K2 Plus

Desk research, not hands-on testing: specifications, independent reviews, documented issues and buyer data. Both scores are calculated from the inputs listed below. How we score

Verdict: A big, enclosed, actively heated CoreXY printer with a 350 mm build volume, a 350°C nozzle and up to 16-colour printing through Creality’s CFS. It is a premium machine, and Tom’s Hardware found slicer and firmware bugs alongside a slow bed warm-up.

Ease of use
9 / 10
Technical difficulty: Low
Reliability indicator
3.4 / 10
From buyer ratings, track record and known issues
Upsides
  • 350 × 350 × 350 mm build volume, the largest enclosed printer in our reviews
  • Actively heated chamber up to 60°C for ABS, ASA and engineering filaments
  • 350°C nozzle with a hardened steel tip, and a 120°C bed
  • The Combo includes a four-colour CFS, expandable to 16 colours with more units
  • Two AI cameras, a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a run-out sensor inside the extruder
Downsides
  • A premium price, especially as the Combo
  • Slow bed warm-up, according to Tom’s Hardware
  • The high-flow nozzle adds to the filament wasted on colour changes
  • Slicer and firmware bugs reported, especially with TPU and purge settings
  • A large machine that needs plenty of space

Best for: Experienced makers who want large multi-colour prints and engineering filaments from one enclosed machine.
Look elsewhere if: You are a first-time buyer on a budget, short of space, or only print small PLA parts.

Who it suits

The K2 Plus, launched in mid-2024, is Creality’s flagship: a large, enclosed CoreXY printer with an actively heated chamber and Creality’s CFS multi-colour system. It suits experienced makers who print big, colourful or demanding parts. For a first printer, it is more machine, and more money, than most people need.

Setting it up

It arrives about 95% assembled, then levels and calibrates itself. A 4.3-inch touchscreen, Creality’s app and two AI cameras cover control and monitoring, and a run-out sensor sits inside the extruder, close to the nozzle. It scores 9 on our ease-of-use checklist. Creality describes the nozzle as quick-change, but we could not confirm the swap is tool-free, so it does not get that point.

Printing with it

The 350 mm cube build volume fits helmets and large parts in one piece. The chamber heats to 60°C, which is what ABS, ASA and nylon-based filaments need to avoid warping and cracking on large parts, and the 350°C hardened-tip nozzle handles filled materials. See enclosed vs open frame.

The Combo’s CFS holds four spools, and up to four units can be connected for 16 colours. Tom’s Hardware noted that the large high-flow nozzle adds to the filament purged on every colour change: see whether multi-colour is worth it.

Living with it

The big bed takes a while to warm up, and Tom’s Hardware ran into slicer and firmware bugs, especially with TPU and purge settings. Firmware updates can fix software problems, but it was notable enough in a published review to cost half a point on our reliability indicator. Make sure you have the space before buying.

The K2 Plus is sold alone and as a CFS Combo, at very different prices. Creality also sells smaller K2 and K2 Pro models, so check the listing is the Plus. Then compare today’s price with this page’s history before buying.
