Our review: ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra 16K
Desk research, not hands-on testing: specifications, independent reviews, documented issues and buyer data. Both scores are calculated from the inputs listed below. How we score
Cheaper right now: another listing of the ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra 16K at £374.99. Check what is in the box, as listings often differ by bundle.
Verdict: A large, extremely sharp resin printer with the comforts that make resin less fiddly: automatic levelling, a heated vat, an AI camera and Wi-Fi. It still needs the full resin workflow, and it is a bigger commitment in space and resin than a 7-inch machine.
7 / 10 Technical difficulty: Medium
4.1 / 10 From buyer ratings, track record and known issues
- 10-inch 16K screen (15120 × 6230) with 14 × 19 µm detail
- Heats the resin vat to 30°C, which keeps prints working in cold rooms
- Automatic levelling, plus alerts for low resin and residue in the vat
- AI camera and Wi-Fi for monitoring prints remotely
- Tilt release for speeds up to 150 mm/h, on a 211 × 118 × 220 mm build volume
- No built-in air filter
- The 4-inch touchscreen is a resistive type, less responsive than a phone-style screen
- A 10-inch printer takes more space and more resin than a 7-inch one
- Every print needs washing, curing, gloves and ventilation
Best for: Miniature and model makers who want bigger build plates, top-tier detail and fewer failed prints in a cold room.
Look elsewhere if: You are new to resin and unsure you will stick with it, or you are short of space.

Who it suits
The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K is for people who already know resin is their hobby: miniature painters, tabletop gamers and model makers who want to fill a larger plate with very detailed parts in one run. Its 10-inch 16K screen resolves detail at 14 × 19 µm, and reviewers praised its miniatures highly.
Why it scores 7 for ease of use
It has most of what makes resin less hands-on. It levels itself, alerts you to low resin or cured residue in the vat, sends files over Wi-Fi, and watches prints with an AI camera. The vat heats resin to 30°C, which matters in the UK: cold resin is thick and a common cause of failed prints in garages and sheds, and one reviewer kept printing successfully in a studio close to freezing.
It misses the point for a built-in air filter, and like every resin printer it carries our 2-point deduction for washing, curing, gloves and ventilation. That leaves a Medium difficulty rating: it is about as easy as resin printing gets, but resin printing is never effortless. Read resin safety, ventilation and disposal before buying.
Printing with it
Tilt release, which peels each layer away from the film at an angle, lets it print at up to 150 mm of height per hour. The 211 × 118 × 220 mm build volume holds a lot of miniatures at once, or larger busts and display pieces.
Living with it
A 10-inch machine needs more space, a larger vat of resin and a bigger wash and cure setup than a 7-inch printer. The 4-inch touchscreen is a resistive type. See whether a wash and cure station is worth it and when to replace the release film.
