Our review: Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro
Desk research, not hands-on testing: specifications, independent reviews, documented issues and buyer data. Both scores are calculated from the inputs listed below. How we score
Verdict: A fully enclosed, filtered CoreXY printer with a camera and tool-free nozzle swaps: it ticks every box on our ease-of-use checklist. Its 220 mm build volume is smaller than some rivals at a similar price.
10 / 10 Technical difficulty: Low
5.3 / 10 From buyer ratings, track record and known issues
- Fully enclosed, with HEPA and activated-carbon filtration for printing ABS and ASA indoors
- Automatic bed levelling and a built-in vibration compensation test
- Tool-free quick-swap nozzles, so changing size takes seconds
- Built-in camera and app control for checking prints remotely
- Filament run-out detection and a 4.3-inch touchscreen
- 220 × 220 × 220 mm build volume is smaller than the 256 mm printers it competes with
- 280°C maximum nozzle temperature rules out some engineering filaments
- Nozzles are proprietary quick-swap assemblies rather than standard screw-in nozzles
- Abrasive filled filaments such as carbon fibre need a hardened nozzle
Best for: Buyers who want to print ABS and ASA indoors, or keep a printer in a living space, without paying for a bigger machine.
Look elsewhere if: You need more than a 220 mm build plate, or plan to print high-temperature engineering filaments.

How the reliability indicator is built
| Amazon buyer rating 4.1 out of 5 (3 stars scores 0, 5 stars scores 6) | +3.3 |
| Confidence: none. Amazon pools these 1,951 buyer reviews with the Flashforge AD5X | +0.0 |
| Track record: model launched 2023 | +2.0 |
Amazon pools reviews across this listing’s variations, so the buyer rating describes the product family, not this exact configuration.
Amazon shows the same rating and review count on a listing of the Flashforge AD5X, a different printer. Its reviews are pooled across models, so the review count earns no confidence points here.
This printer is sold under several Amazon listings. The buyer rating comes from the one with the most reviews, so it is the same wherever this review appears.
Who it suits
The Adventurer 5M Pro is the enclosed version of Flashforge’s popular Adventurer 5M. It is aimed squarely at people who want the benefits of an enclosure, cleaner air, fewer draughts and the ability to print ABS and ASA, without the complexity or cost of a large professional machine.
Setting it up
It arrives assembled, levels its own bed and includes a vibration compensation test to keep surfaces clean at speed. Control is through a 4.3-inch touchscreen, the Flashforge app or Flashforge’s slicer. With a camera, run-out detection and tool-free nozzle swaps as well, every item on our ease-of-use checklist is ticked.
Printing with it
The enclosure is the reason to buy this over the cheaper open-frame 5M. ABS and ASA warp and crack in open air; inside a closed box they print far more reliably. The HEPA and activated-carbon filters help with the smell and particles those materials give off, although a ventilated room is still sensible. See enclosed vs open frame.
The limits are size and temperature. A 220 mm cube is enough for most parts, but printers at similar prices increasingly offer 256 mm. A 280°C nozzle covers PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS and ASA comfortably, but not the hottest engineering materials. Abrasive filled filaments need a hardened nozzle.
Living with it
The quick-swap nozzles are genuinely convenient, but they are complete Flashforge assemblies rather than the cheap standard nozzles many printers take, so budget accordingly. See the real cost of owning a 3D printer.
One caveat on the buyer data: Amazon pools ratings across Adventurer 5M listings, so the rating behind our reliability indicator describes the 5M family, not the Pro alone.
Is today’s price a good deal?
The 5M Pro competes directly with enclosed printers from Bambu Lab and ELEGOO, and its value depends heavily on the day’s price. Compare it with the P1S and Centauri Carbon in our review table, and check the price history on this page.
